The siren of a security system
is simply a speaker with circuitry and an amplifier built in an
enclosure that is designed to keep moisture and heat out
while producing a loud output of verabal tones to deter
thief.
The sire and consists of two
wires ,one negative and the other
a positive.
Wiring it is quite simple, as the negative wire
will be grounded to the same screw that is used to mount a
security siren and the posotive wire will be routed from the
engine compartment into the firewall and into the vehicle
itself, as seen on the image below.
There are several things to take
in consideration when installing your siren.
Always point it down to the ground to eliminate or reduce
moister and other contaminants entering into
the throat of the siren.
Always keep the siren far away as
possible from any heat source of such as the exhaust
manifold , radiator , etc.
When installing the siren try
to avoid as many objects in front of the siren, as to
maxamizez the sound output that leaves the engine compartment.
